Dohngian Shaman Novel Summary:
It is a romantic Urdu love story by Tania Tahir based on a strict setting in terms of family politics. The novel begins with a historical conflict and a multitude of misunderstandings between the Chudhari and Nawab families. It has love, revenge, relationship obstacles, and the massive family pressure, and it is all written in a very engaging manner.
Characters:
Sadam:
Sadam is the son of the Nawab and primary dude. He is affectionate, rowdy, as he is willing to give it all to his love, Zarnish. What complicates his decisions are his family and feudal dictates that complicate his love life.
Zarnish:
Zarnish is an intelligent and beautiful girl belonging to Chaudhary family and lover of Saadam. She is in a relationship with him but family rivalry and feudal compel her. Her life is nothing other than love and family boundaries.
Shehryar:
Shehryar is the eldest of the sons of the Chudhari family; he is not only smart but also just. He is just and he does everything to maintain order following the demise of his father and family quarrels between his siblings.
Waleed:
The younger brother, Waleed, is known as Sol and is all about hate and revenge which brings tension and conflicts. He is revenge-centered towards Saadam and the Nawab family and his sentiments guide him to do so.
Janan:
Janan is a naive and faithful sister of Saadam in Nawab house. She is caught between the intrusions of her brother and that of Waleed.
Aaiza:
She is the wife of Shehriar, Chudhari’s daughter in law. She is understanding and loving, yet she is under the pressure of family issues and love life.
Nawab Fazal:
The Nawab head, Nawab Fazal, is a powerful and domineering head. His actions cause massive fights, and he can do anything to retain his authority and ego.
Plot Overview:
It begins with an ancient quarrel between the Nawab and Chudhari families over territory, social authority and prestige. It is a tragic and murderous story of a young man of Chudhari falling in love with a woman of the Nawab clan.
Those effects spill over to the succeeding generation of the two clans, as Shehriar and Waleed make other choices. Shehriar pursues justice and comprehension, and Waleed falls into revenge. Saadam is a devout Nawab son who is in love with Zarnish and cannot decide his heart and the family regulations.
The plot contains romance and suspense through clandestine affairs, misinterpretations and emotional issues. The other key argument is the revenge scheme that Waleed enters into, which increases the level of tension with Saadam and the Nawab family. The stories by Janan and Aaiza portray the family structure and emotional arguments.
Janan is stuck between her brother and Waleed and Aaiza struggles with her own dilemmas with the family pressures and societal expectations. The authentic appearance of the feudal norms, loyalties, misconceptions and forbidden love makes every turn captivating and heart-throbbing. Nawab Fazal gets to know that excess control and feudal mind can only bring misery and ignorance. This conclusion brings good emotional satisfaction and mood to the reader.
